A Tangier Travel Guide

But then one that looks behind the screens.

At the same time making sure it does not tell too much...

...That was the aim with this small website.

Hello visitor

I started this small site 5 years ago, when Tangier was still a city in economic turnmoil.

For tourists in Málaga the threshold to take that ferry was very high, and I wanted to show there was no 'danger' whatsoever.

I can't recall just how many times I traveled to or through Tangier - but it still is my all time favourite city.

Thanks for your visit and have a great time in Tangier.

A changed city

OK, I am one of these die hard travelers to Morocco that used to think Morocco was stunning - and now just "still nice".

Backpacking, culture shocks or adventureous days are completely over, and Morocco has largely become a country of mass tourism as well as for luxury golf packages etc.

Burning topics such as the poverty, the street children, the very hard social pressure into Arabisation; all that is now carefully kept out of sight, and even as a backpacker you might not notice it any longer - it largely has become a 'clean' touristic place.

But still... both Tangier and Morocco still do have something. Get away from the main train lines and the beaten track, and you'll find it.
